Firstly CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy or new arrival!

My name is Sarah Birtles and I live in Chiswick, West London, with my supportive husband and our two highly energetic children.  I had my first child, Charlotte (the ice skating Queen), at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital in 1998 and my second child, Ben (the demon bowler), was also born at Queen Charlotte’s in 2000.  Ben was one of the last babies to be born at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital before it moved to the Hammersmith site.

I am a Postnatal Doula trained with Nurturing Birth in May 2009 and I am a member of Doula UK, the UK’s largest organisation for Doulas.  I have completed Doula UK’s recognition process, which Doula UK introduced for doulas in the UK to establish a distinction between doulas who have simply registered with them, and those who are “recognised” as having attained a particular level of learned skills and experience.

Please feel free to look around my site and contact me if you have any further questions.

I hope my child looks back on today
And sees a mother who had time to play
There will be years for cleaning and cooking
But children grow up when you’re not looking
Tomorrow I’ll do all the chores you can mention
But today, my baby needs time and attention
So settle down cobwebs; dust go to sleep, I’m cuddling my baby
and babies don’t keep.
